	<texte lg="fr"><![CDATA[Edifié de 1897 à 1900 à l’occasion de l’Exposition universelle de Paris, le Grand Palais fut à l’origine un « monument consacré par la République à la gloire de l’art français », comme l’indique l’inscription gravée sur son fronton. En 1964, André Malraux, alors ministre de la Culture, confia à Reynolds Arnould le soin de transformer une partie du Grand Palais en galeries destinées à présenter de prestigieuses expositions temporaires à caractère international : la première, consacrée à l’art des pays d'Afrique noire, a eu lieu entre juin et août 1966.

Les Galeries nationales du Grand Palais ont depuis lors accueilli plus de 250 expositions organisées pour la plupart par la Réunion des musées nationaux et se sont affirmées comme le lieu de présentation d’expositions internationales le plus important de France et l'un des plus importants du monde.]]></texte>

	<texte lg="en"><![CDATA[Built in 1897-1900 for the Universal Exhibition in Paris, the Grand Palais was originally, as the inscription on the fronton proclaims, "a monument raised by the Republic to the glory of French art". In 1964, André Malraux, then the Minister of Culture, asked Reynolds Arnould to convert part of the palace into galleries for holding temporary international exhibitions. The first show, on art of black African countries, was held from June to August 1966.

The Galleries are attached to the Ministry of Culture, under the responsibility of the French Museums Department. Since 1966, they have hosted over 250 exhibitions, most of them organised by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux, and are now established as France’s most important venue for international exhibitions and one of the most important in the world.]]></texte>
